MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE

JAIPURIAR STUDENTS SHINE AT THE MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE, 2017.

MUNners Today………Leaders Tomorrow.

The Apeejay Model United Nations Conference, 2017 was held on the 2nd and 3rd of November, 2017. It brought together 11 schools and 87 delegates representing 44 countries to recreate the following committees with their agendas – Economic and Social Council, UN Cyber Security Council, Historic Security Council, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. The goal of MUN is to provide a highly realistic and interactive experience of the United Nations. It provides students an opportunity to work in a simulated version of the United Nations and understand the problems of the International Community. Each delegate is assigned a certain committee. A specific topic is deliberated during the course of the conference. Students debated, discussed, argued and put forward their views on different global issues impressively. Jaipuriar students were well prepared and had clearly done their research on their respective committee agendas. They shone with their thought-provoking, well-laid arguments, energetic discussions and hard-driven negotiations. Jaipuriar students Harsh Khot, Ameet Rane , Srijan Pathak and Aparajita Sinha were able to put up an outstanding performance in all the committees. They were under the able guidance of the School Coordinator, Mrs.Hema Arora. Srijan Pathak of Class XII was awarded for best humour (runner-up) in the UNESCAP committee. The over-all experience was immensely rewarding for all especially the student delegates both in terms of gaining knowledge and making friends from all corners of the city.
