INDEPENDENCE DAY

The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Jaipuriar School, Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. The school wore a festive look with the hues of the tri-colour. The programme started at 8 a.m. in the school playground. Mr. Vishal Jadhav (PSI, Detective Cell, Sanpada) was the Chief Guest for the day. The function started with the flag hoisting program while all sang the national anthem in unison. This was followed by a march past by the students and the band students. Welcoming the distinguished guests, the Principal Mrs. Aarti Singh spoke about the importance of the day and the need to be righteous and honest in one’s life and towards the nation as well. She also instilled in the students the need to imbibe a sense of patriotism and take pride in one’s country. The Chief Guest addressed the students and reminded of them of their duties and responsibilities towards the nation. Our school founder, Mrs. Sinha graced the occasion and gave an inspirational speech on the supreme sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. The school head boy and head girl spoke eloquently about the significance of the day .The students of Class V spoke about the need to take pride in one’s country. The speeches in Hindi, English and Marathi by the students highlighted the achievements of the country over the years. This year’s theme was a salute to the martyrs. Students presented an array of performances to celebrate the day. It was complete with skits, dance, drama and music. The choir group was at their spectacular best singing patriotic songs. The dance performance by the students left the audience spell- bound. The skit on national unity left a strong message of unity in diversity. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks which was proposed by Mansi of Class VIII. Sweets were distributed to students. It was indeed a day of great joy and happiness for the parents, students and teachers who were apart of the function.
